Dojo Head – Alpine
Ian Young is a dedicated karate practitioner who embarked on his martial arts journey in February 2017 at the age of 52. Despite expressing a wish that he had started at a younger age, he firmly believes that practicing karate has become one of the best things he has ever done. Ian’s passion for karate has not only transformed his own life but has also led him to become an influential figure in the martial arts community.
Currently, Ian is the instructor at the Alpine Dojo in Freeburgh, located approximately 9km outside of Bright. As the head of the dojo, he plays a crucial role in shaping the karate experiences of his students. Ian’s classes cater to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, reflecting his inclusive approach to teaching. He derives satisfaction from witnessing the progress and growth of his students, highlighting the joy he finds in being a mentor and guide on their martial arts journey.
Ian Young’s story serves as an inspiration for those who may believe that starting a new endeavour later in life is not feasible.
